Distinguished Alumni 2022

As part of the Wall of Fame Ceremony, the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School also honors a Distinguished Alumni. This year's recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award is Ms. Andrea Cowper.

Ms. Cowper was born on October 27, 1971 to Clifford and Shirley Cowper. She graduated from the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School in 1989 (only missing a total of 1 day of school during her four years of high school).

After graduation, Ms. Cowper left for U.S. Air Force basic training on August 1, 1989. She spent the next 30 years in the Air Force moving a total of 19 times in which she lived in 9 different states and 5 different countries. During those years, she progressed up the ranks from the lowest enlisted rank, Airmen (E-1) to Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), the highest enlisted rank attainable in the United States military. She retired from the Air Force in August of 2019.

But retirement was not the end of her career, she then applied to and was accepted to attend the University of Illinois - Champaign Urbana. In December of 2022, she completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology. In November of 2022, Ms. Cowper began employment as a Case Manager at Merci's Refuge, a 4-5 month residential Christian Counseling program in Champaign, Illinois for adult women who are seeking freedom from various life-controlling issues.

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School faculty, staff, and administration would like to congratulate Ms. Andrea Cowper on being named the 2022 CMSF Distinguished Alumni.
