Jade Nalley Scores 100 Points

In a performance reminiscent of Wilt Chamberlain’s NBA record-setting 100-point game in 1962, CMSF junior Jade Nalley also hit the century mark today. Nalley’s 100 points led the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats scholar bowl team to a 120-100 victory over Gallatin County. The Wildcats (4-0) remain undefeated and completed a season sweep of the Gallatin County Hawks.

Down 20-0 in the 6th round of 24, sophomore Lilian Crawford got the dice rolling for the Wildcats, correctly answering there are 36 outcomes for a 2-dice roll. With the Wildcats down 40-30 in the 13th round, Nalley racked up 30 points on three Supreme Court questions, giving the Wildcats a 60-40 lead. The Hawks tied the match 100-100 on the 10-point tossup in the 23rd round. But when the Hawks couldn’t convert their three bonus questions, Nalley and junior Carson Van Dyke rebounded and stole 20 points, giving the Wildcats a 120-100 win.

The junior varsity Wildcats (0-4) dropped their match to the JV Hawks, who won 240-90. Sophomore Brayden Kirk led the JV Cats with 30 points. Van Dyke and sophomore Brayden Harmon each scored 20, and sophomores Bailee Odum and Madie Shafer each scored 10.

The Wildcats are off until next week, when they travel January 18 to Marion for the annual Greater Egyptian Conference tournament.
