Scholar Bowl

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School scholar bowl team (12-2) stretched its winning streak to six, sweeping the Pope County Pirates (8-6) on the road. The Wildcats are now in 1st place in the Greater Egyptian Conference. The varsity Wildcats won by scores of 170-150 and 180-80 at Pope County High School, and the junior varsity Wildcats won 240-140. 

Junior Jade Nalley again reached the century mark, scoring 100 points in the first match to lead the Wildcats to a 170-150 win. Sophomore Bailee Odum scored 40 in the first match, sophomore Brayden Kirk scored 20, and senior captain Brianna Cullers scored 10. In the second match, Nalley led the team with 70 points and Cullers scored 60 in the Wildcats’ 180-80 win. Kirk scored 20 in the second match, junior Carson VanDyke scored 20, and sophomore Brayden Harmon scored 10. Harmon scored a match-high 160 points in the JV match, leading the JV Cats to a 240-140 win. Sophomore JV captain Taylor Dombrow scored 40, Kirk scored 20, and Odum scored 20. 

The Wildcats resume season play on Friday when they host the Hardin County Cougars.
