After trailing 70-10 in the 1st quarter of IHSA Class A regionals, the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School Scholar Bowl team fought back to go up 220-200 in the 4th quarter. But then, McLeansboro (Hamilton County) swept a series of orchestra questions for a 40-point surge and pulled away. The Foxes beat the Wildcats, 280-230.
Coach Burke Wasson said, "We had a great season, celebrating our first Greater Egyptian Conference regular-season championship with a 15-3 record. We’re out, but we’ll be back."
