ELIZABETHTOWN (11/7/25) - The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School varsity scholar bowl team began its season by splitting a doubleheader at Hardin County. The Wildcats dropped the first match to the Cougars 260-160 and won the second match 250-70.
Between the two varsity matches, senior captain Brayden Harmon led the Wildcats with 200 points. Fellow senior captain Brayden Kirk scored 130. In his scholar bowl debut, junior Matthew Reeves scored 50. Senior Bailee Odum and sophomore Jeremiah Beck each scored 10.
The JV Wildcats dropped their first match of the season to the JV Cougars, 340-90. Sophomore Maddie Ellis led the JV Cats with 60 points. Senior Jaxon Layman and sophomore Summer Janaskie each scored 10. And sophomore Breezy Betz scored 10 points in her scholar bowl debut.
The Wildcats are off until next Friday, Nov. 14, when they host the Pope County Pirates for their first home match of the season.
