CMSF NEWS

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to maneuver through this global pandemic, while continuing to successfully educate our Pre-K through 12th grade students.

Yesterday, we were notified of two positive coronavirus cases at the Grade School. Unfortunately, this occurred at 2:30 pm. After the initial contact tracing, we found that several students, faculty and staff would need to be quarantined or begin the “test to stay in school” protocol. Because of the number of possible tests, or those placed in quarantine, it would not be safe to bring everyone back to school Friday morning. We did not want to risk any further possible exposure.

Therefore, we wanted everyone to have as much time as possible to make arrangements for childcare, which was why the announcement was made at school before the 3:00 dismissal, and then again through our notification system shortly after the students left for the day. Today gave the school nurse and administration time to complete our contact tracing, schedule any testing that needs to be completed, and it gives the custodians an extra day to continue to fully clean and disinfect both buildings.

We take the safety of our students as seriously as we do their education, so the decision was made to make today a teacher in-service day. This will take the place of the teacher in-service day originally scheduled for March 4, 2022. This date will now be a regular student attendance day.

All contact tracing has been completed, and all parents/guardians have now been contacted in regards to any possible exposure. We will have school on Monday, August 30, 2021. Please encourage your child/young adult, as we have, to continue to wear their masks appropriately while in the building and on a bus, to continue to practice social distancing, and to wash their hands as frequently as possible.

Again, thank you for your patience as we continue to keep our students in school, safe, and healthy.

Have a wonderful weekend!
