Nolen's Nightmares (Junior Class)

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School just completed their final PBIS Event of the year. Homeroom Challenge #9: The Whiffleball Tournament took place on May 18. With the Seniors gone due to graduation, the 8th Grade students visited the High School and participated in their first PBIS event as next year's Freshman Class. The 8th Grade, Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior Classes each had one team of ten players competing in the tournament. Each game consisted of three innings with regular baseball/softball rules.

In the first game, it was Nolen's Nightmares (Juniors) vs. Waite's Warriors (8th Graders). The Juniors scored 7 runs in the top of the first after back-to-back homeruns by Abbi Musgraves (3-run homerun) and Caleb Roski. The 8th Graders came back with 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning to make it 7-3. In the second inning the Nightmares scored 8 runs, followed by 8 runs for the Warriors to make it a 15-11 game heading into the third and final inning. In the 3rd, the Junior Class erupted for 11 runs and a 26-14 victory.

In Game #2, the Sophomore Class, Eisenhauer's Giant Killers, played against the Freshmen Class, DeNeal's Destroyers, in a defensive battle. The score was 1-0 Destroyers after the first inning and then they tacked on 3 more runs in the second with back-to-back dingers by Skylar Collins (2-run homerun) and Cadence Boaz. The Giant Killers scored 1-run in the third, but the game ended with the Freshmen advancing to the championship game with a 4-1 win.
