In the first round the Lady Wildcats defeated Crab Orchard in two sets (25-23 and 25-23). They then defeated Thompsonville in two sets (25-8 and 25-12) to advance to the championship game against NCOE. The Lady Wildcats won in two sets (27-25 and 25-23) to bring home the 1st Place trophy.
"To say I am a proud coach is an understatement," Coach Shayla Ferrell stated. "The girls played better than I have ever seen them play before. The amount of energy each girl had out on the court was unbelievable!"
For the tournament, Sophomore Tyli Harp was 31/34 in serves with 4 aces and 68 sets. Sophomore JuJu Crisp was 35/36 on serves with 8 aces, 15/22 on attacks, and she had 8 kills. Sophomore Madisyn Wright was 17/21 on serves with 4 aces and 41 sets. Sophomore Abbie Pickering was 32/33 on serves with 4 aces, 28/32 on atatcks, and she had 9 kills. Sophomore Desinique Nelson was 36/37 on attacks, she had 13 kills, and 16 block points. Freshman Madie Shafer was 16/20 on serves and Freshman Jaylei Musgraves was 12/16 on serves with 3 aces, 9/13 on attacks, and she had 5 kills.
Coach Ferrell went on to say, "Our JV team is currently undefeated at 12-0. They did enjoy keeping each game very close and intense, which was extremely nerve racking at times, but they came into the tournament with one goal, to walk out as champions, and that is what they did!"
