Cold & Flu Season

Attention Wildcat Community:

As many of you know, the cold and flu season has arrived. We have had several students in the nurse’s office in regards to headaches, sore throats, stomach aches, and other ailments. We have had several confirmed cases of strep throat, influenza, and coronavirus over the past several weeks.

After doing much research on the topic of fever, it has been concluded that your child/young adult needs to stay home if he/she is running a temperature greater than 100.0 degrees. It is also recommended that your student should stay home until he/she is fever free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

If your child/young adult is sick and will miss school, please call the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Grade School Office at (618) 994-2413 or the High School Office at (618) 994-2392 to let us know. When you call the office, do not forget to request any homework that your student might miss. If you do request his/her assignments, please make sure you pick them up after 2:00 p.m. each day. Once your child/young adult has completed the work to the best of his/her ability, please return the work to the school in a timely manner.

Please remind your children to frequently wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze. Help us all to Stay Healthy!
