Parents,
Please join Egyptian Health Department for an educational event on Tuesday, May 18 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. in the grade school gym. There will be two presentations by the health department: Hidden in Plain Sight and an Opioid Overdose/Naloxone educational training. This event is for adults only. No children may be present.
Hidden in Plain Sight:
Hidden in Plain Sight is an educational experience that walks you through a typical teenage bedroom. The inside of the bedroom is set up with drug paraphernalia “Hidden in Plain Sight.” This is an interactive display/program that offers adults insights into current trends in youth substance misuse, drug paraphernalia, concealment of illicit drugs & alcohol and risky behavior. Community members will be educated about drug trends, paraphernalia, various vaping devices, how to talk to youth about alcohol & drugs, and what to do if a problem is suspected.
Opioid Overdose Education/Naloxone Training:
The goal of overdose prevention education is to inform our community about the opioid crisis in Illinois and to raise awareness by empowering people with the necessary skills and resources to prevent an opioid overdose. Participants will learn about the impact of legal and illegal opioids in their community, how opioids can be unknowingly mixed in with other substances/devices, how opioids work, how to recognize and respond to an overdose, and how to access and administer a life-saving, opioid reversal medication called Naloxone.
Tuesday, May 18th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Grade School gym. This event is for adults only. No children may be present.

Attention Wildcat Community: Today is a very exciting day for the Class of 2021. The Senior Class will have their Graduation Ceremony this evening at the High School Softball Field at 7:00 pm. Seating will not be provided, so if you would like to sit down to enjoy the ceremony, you will need to bring your own chair to sit in. Also, although Illinois may have moved to this new "bridge phase," our school has been instructed by the Egyptian Health Department to continue to ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing while at school events.
Please join us tonight as we congratulate the Class of 2021 on a job well done. Go Wildcats!
