Attention Class of 2021: This is just a reminder, but the SAT testing began at 8:00 am on Wednesday, September 23. Taking the SAT is now a state requirement for high school graduation. If you missed today's test, please contact Mrs. Lane at the High School and she will arrange for you to take the make-up test on Tuesday, October 27. To the Class of 2021: Normally, the SAT is given to students in the spring of their junior year. Due to COVID-19 shut downs, the SAT was canceled last year. Taking the SAT is a state requirement for graduation, therefore all seniors must take it this year to be eligible to graduate. The state is offering a free make-up day for current seniors who were not able to take the test last year. We will provide that test here, at the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School, on Wednesday September 23rd at 8:00 am. Both in-person and remote learners should report to the high school this Wednesday, September 23rd at 8:00 am to take this test. Please bring a pencil, calculator, and a mask with you that morning. The USDA has extended its "Meals at No Cost to Students Program" for all students. This is an extension of the initial pandemic response. All Pre-K through 12th Grade students will now receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. This is retroactive back to September 1st. Anyone that was charged for meals since that time will receive credit on their account. The extension of the program currently runs through December 31, 2020.
These meals are not only open to in-person learners, but also to anyone still doing remote learning and any child/young adult under 18 years of age, including non-school age children. Remote learners and non-school age children that are not already receiving meals can call the Grade School office at (618) 994-2413 in order to sign up. Pick up for those that are remote learning is Monday-Friday Breakfast 7:45-8:15 a.m. and Lunch pick up is 11:00-11:30 a.m.

The school schedule will remain as 7:45 am-1:45 pm for in-person instruction and 1:45 pm-3:15 pm as remote learning on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesdays will now be remote learning only with no student attendance.

Change #3: Finally, starting with the 2nd Quarter, those students choosing remote learning will be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities.
Change #2: Next, for those remote learning students that would like to return to in-person instruction, you may switch at the 1st Quarter mid-term, which is Friday, September 11. If you would like to switch from remote learning to in-person instruction, please contact Mr. Kerley for Grade School students at jkerley@cmsfcats.org or Mrs. Kuhlmann for High School students at mkuhlmann@cmsfcats.org. You may also call the school and notify Mr. Kerley or Mrs. Kuhlmann of your intent to change. This change must be made by September 11 and your child/young adult will begin in-person instruction on Monday, September 14.
Change #1: Each Wednesday will be a full remote learning day with no student attendance. This change will begin on Wednesday, September 16 and continue through Friday, October 9 (which is the end of the 1st Quarter). We will reevaluate the Wednesday remote learning days at the end of the 1st Quarter.
Due to the large number of students choosing remote learning for the 1st Quarter, the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Grade School and High School will have to make the following three changes to the schedule:
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Egyptian Health Department (EHD) recently released their updated COVID-19 Exclusion Guidance. It states that any student should be sent home and provided remote instruction if they have any of the following symptoms: a fever of 100.4 or higher, headache, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, congestion or runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue, and/or muscle or body aches. If your child/young adult has any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school. If they complain of any of the above symptoms while at school, the school will contact you to pick them up.

Attention Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School Parents and Students: School is scheduled to begin for students on Monday, August 24. Both Remote Learners and In-Person Learners will be loaned a Chromebook this year for use at home and at school. On August 19, 20, and 21, from 8:00 am-11:00 am, students may come to the High School and pickup their electronic devices and chargers. Please follow the schedule below, along with the pickup points:
8:00 am-11:00 am- Freshmen and Juniors report to the side door of the High School.
8:00 am-11:00 am- Sophomores and Seniors report to the front door of the High School.
A staff member will bring the Chromebook, a charger, a copy of the CMSF User Agreement, and a copy of your schedule to you at your designated door. All registration paperwork must be returned to pickup a device on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. DEVICE PICK-UP FOR ALL STUDENTS:
E-Learners: On Thursday, August 20th, everyone who has chosen the E-Learning option to begin the 2020-2021 School Year will be responsible for attending the E-Learning orientation. At orientation there will be an opportunity for students and parents to ask questions as well as receive instruction on their devices. During this time students will be completing diagnostic tests with staff in classrooms. Parents/Guardians will remain in the gym to receive more training on the Chromebook and to have a Q & A session with administration. It is the goal of Carrier Mills Unit 2 to make this experience the best it can be, therefore it is paramount that at least one adult from the household attend this meeting.
In-Person: Friday all in-person learners will pick up their device at the scheduled time.
