Parents and Guardians: Parent/Teacher conferences will conclude tonight at the high school from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Grade cards will be given out to those in attendance. Those who cannot make it will be sent home tomorrow with your student.

Just a reminder, the CMHS parent-teacher conferences will be today, Oct. 18th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again tomorrow, Oct. 19th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Attention Wildcat Community: Tonight's high school volleyball game has been canceled.

Just a reminder, Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Schools will dismiss today at 12:00 pm. School will not be in session tomorrow, Friday, October 6 for a teacher in-service. Fall Break will be Monday, October 9-Friday, October 13. School will resume on Monday, October 16. Enjoy your break!

This is a reminder that students in Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th Grade and any student attending an IL school for the first time must turn in a School Physical with up-to-date immunization records by October 15. All Kindergarten and new students attending an IL school for the first time must turn in an Eye Exam by October 15. All Seniors must provide proof of receiving their 2nd Meningitis Vaccine by October 15. If you have any questions please contact Nurse Kristina at (618) 994-2413 ext. 326.

Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 5. School will not be in session on Friday, October 6 for a teacher in-service. Fall Break will be Monday, October 9-Friday, October 13. School will resume on Monday, October 16.

Pre-K Screenings will be held on October 19 and 20. If you have a child or know someone who has a child who live in the Carrier Mills-Stonefort School District and will be 3 on or before October 19, please call the grade school and speak to Beth Dillard to set up an appointment for screening.

On October 4, all students grades 6-12 will receive active threat/intruder drill training. On Thursday, October 5, the school district will hold active threat drills to practice the procedures taught during the training. The state of Illinois requires the school district to give parents/guardians the option to opt their student out of the active threat drills. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the active threat drills, please call the school your student attends to receive a copy of the opt-out form. The form will need to be signed and returned for your child to NOT participate in the drill. All parents and students will be informed on the dates of the drills. If you choose to opt-out your child will be moved to an alternate location in the school building and will not participate in the drill but will receive a separate training.

Attention Wildcat Nation: If you're planning on attending the state softball game tomorrow in Pinkneyville, admission is $5.00 a person, 9th grade and older, and $2.00 for 8th grade and younger.

Parents/Guardians: If you are planning on going to the state softball game on Saturday, please remember: The SIJHSAA forbids bringing animals (dogs, cats, etc.) to our contests The SIJHSAA prohibits the use of all types of noise-makers, confetti, radios, poms, rally towels, shakers, thunder sticks, camera lights, laser lights, and tripods in the stands. Signs must be no larger than a legal-sized sheet of paper. (8 1/2 inches X 14 inches) *No trailers, enclosed trailers, or grills allowed on site. A full concession stand is located at each state site. *No alcohol allowed or consumed at any SIJHSAA State Site.

The Paragon Fundraiser items will be delivered on Thursday, September 28. If your child sold items from the Paragon Fundraiser, please pick them up on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm in the grade school cafeteria.

Attention Wildcat Nation: The Junior Class Pancake Breakfast will be this coming Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Municipal Building.

Congratulations to our Star Readers who received new dog tags this week! Arryanna Williams and Gabe Vickers received a 25 point dog tag. Nyla Guyton and Keaton Nielsen received a 50 point dog tag. Easton Watkins received a 300 points dog tag. We are proud of our Star Readers!!

Just a reminder: The cheer clinic is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 20 and Friday, September 22 from 3:00-5:00 pm in the grade school gym for K-5 students who have already signed up.

This is just a reminder that tutoring will begin on Tuesday, September 19 for students signed up. Tutoring is currently full so we will not be accepting any more students at this time for the tutoring program. Tutoring will continue each Tuesday and Thursday until November 30 from 3:00-4:30 pm.

Parent Teacher Conferences will continue tonight at Carrier Mills-Stonefort Grade School. Conferences will be from 3:00-6:00 pm tonight. You will receive your child's midterm reports at this time. Also, the book fair is open tonight from 3:00-6:00 pm. The book fair will be open through Tuesday, September 19 if you did not get a chance to purchase something this week.

Attention Middle School Parents: Basketball tryouts will be held on Sept. 25th at 5 p.m. at the grade school. To try out, your child must have a physical and proof of insurance. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

Due to a scheduling conflict with junior high softball and high school volleyball, the cheer clinic scheduled for Tuesday, September 19 and Wednesday, September 20 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 20 and Friday, September 22. The clinic will be from 3:00-5:00 pm each day. Only K-5 students who previously signed up for the clinic will be allowed to attend. The students who participate in the clinic will perform at Catskins Days on Saturday, September 23 following the parade at 6:00 pm.
