Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Schools will be dismissed at 1:45 tomorrow, Thursday, October 10 and will not be in session on Friday, October 11. Fall break will be Monday, October 14-Friday, October 18. Enjoy your fall break!!

The Carrier Mills-Stonefort Elementary School Cheerleaders are holding a cheer clinic on Tuesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 24 from 3:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $35 and includes a t-shirt. The girls will perform at the grade school and high school homecoming games. Forms and money are due by Thursday, October 10.
On Wednesday, October 9, all students grades 6-12 will receive active threat/intruder drill training. After the presentation, all students in the school district will hold active threat drills to practice the procedures taught during the training. The state of Illinois requires the school district to give parents/guardians the option to opt their student out of the active threat drills. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the active threat drills, please call the school your student attends to receive a copy of the opt-out form. The form will need to be signed and returned for your child to NOT participate in the drill. All parents and students will be informed on the dates of the drills. If you choose to opt-out your child will be moved to an alternate location in the school building and will not participate in the drill but will receive a separate training.
As some of you may know, the Buncombe community lost a 6th grade student on Sunday afternoon. In support of our neighbors, we are going blue for Buncombe tomorrow. If you wish to donate a $1.00 or any monetary amount it will all be given to the family to help with expenses. Donations are not necessary to participate in wearing blue. We hope to see everyone in blue tomorrow to show Johnson County some Wildcat love.
On Monday, October 7 at 7:00 pm, Coach Patton will be having a Basketball Parent meeting in the High School Gym. Parents are encouraged to attend.
This is a reminder that health requirements are due by October 15th. Your child will be excluded starting October 16th if requirements have not been met. Physicals and proof of up to date immunizations are required for Pre-K, K, & 6th grades. Vision exams are due for Kindergarten students as well. 9th grade students will need a school physical, as a sports physical will not work in place of a school physical. 12th grade students will need to turn in proof of their second meningococcal vaccine. The Paragon Fundraiser items will be delivered to the elementary school this afternoon, Monday, September 30. If your child sold paragon items , please make arrangements to have them picked up at 3:00 pm today at the cafeteria doors. Many of these items need to be frozen or refrigerated and we do not have space for them so please make arrangements for pickup.
Carrier Mills-Stonefort Junior High Basketball Tryouts will be on Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1 from 5pm-8pm. Students in 5th-8th grade are eligible to try out and must have a current physical and proof of insurance to try out.
Attention Wildcat Community: Junior Class Pancake Breakfast is this Saturday, September 28 in the Grade School Cafeteria from 8:00-10:00 am. Tickets may be purchased at the door: $8.00 for an adult and $5.00 for a child. Please support the Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School Junior Class Prom and enjoy a great breakfast this Saturday. The Carrier Mills-Stonefort Junior High Regional Baseball Game has been cancelled for today at Lick Creek. It has been moved to tomorrow at 4:00 at Lick Creek. The regional softball game will be played today at home at 4:00 pm.
