Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Schools will be encouraging students to be drug free with Red Ribbon Week activities this week. For the elementary school and high school students, Friday will be dress as your favorite character day (Halloween)!
Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Schools will dismiss at 1:45 pm on Friday, October 27 for Halloween Parties. Carrier Mills-Stonefort Elementary students will have Halloween Parties from 10:00 am-11:00 am and can be picked up at 11:00 am to get dressed for the costume parade in the gym. All students should be back in class by 12:20 pm and everyone is invited to attend the parade in the gym at 12:30 pm. Have a safe Halloween!

Parents and Guardians: Parent/Teacher conferences will conclude tonight at the high school from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Grade cards will be given out to those in attendance. Those who cannot make it will be sent home tomorrow with your student.
Just a reminder, the CMHS parent-teacher conferences will be today, Oct. 18th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again tomorrow, Oct. 19th, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This is a reminder that students in Kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th Grade and any student attending an IL school for the first time must turn in a School Physical with up-to-date immunization records by October 15. All Kindergarten and new students attending an IL school for the first time must turn in an Eye Exam by October 15. All Seniors must provide proof of receiving their 2nd Meningitis Vaccine by October 15. If you have any questions please contact Nurse Kristina at (618) 994-2413 ext. 326.
Carrier Mills-Stonefort Unit 2 Students will be dismissed at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 5. School will not be in session on Friday, October 6 for a teacher in-service. Fall Break will be Monday, October 9-Friday, October 13. School will resume on Monday, October 16.
Pre-K Screenings will be held on October 19 and 20. If you have a child or know someone who has a child who live in the Carrier Mills-Stonefort School District and will be 3 on or before October 19, please call the grade school and speak to Beth Dillard to set up an appointment for screening.
On October 4, all students grades 6-12 will receive active threat/intruder drill training. On Thursday, October 5, the school district will hold active threat drills to practice the procedures taught during the training. The state of Illinois requires the school district to give parents/guardians the option to opt their student out of the active threat drills. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the active threat drills, please call the school your student attends to receive a copy of the opt-out form. The form will need to be signed and returned for your child to NOT participate in the drill. All parents and students will be informed on the dates of the drills. If you choose to opt-out your child will be moved to an alternate location in the school building and will not participate in the drill but will receive a separate training.
